In 2025, we’re creating a paid opportunity for independent artists to take the reins in developing an idea for the Windmill audience. Pitch a concept, gather a team and use the full breadth of our company resources to develop and share your work (in an informal showing) with an audience.

Four teams of up to six artists each. Four seriously rad ideas brought to life over two pumping weeks of creative development.

Indie-mill is a paid opportunity for makers to take creative risks and tell unique stories that challenge and inspire young people, with an aim to finish the program with a suite of materials to take an idea to the next stage.

Open to professional practising independent theatre makers and actors only. All artists must be over 18+ and South Australian based. Artists cannot work across multiple projects. Culturally and linguistically diverse, First Nations/Blak, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ are strongly encouraged to apply.
